Now I’m sure that some of you will have some uber cool, fashionable eatery. Some of you will have some antique wear with a great story…

Us?

We have plain white plates/bowls :)

But there is a story behind them. Casey and I were using old chipped up plates for a couple of years, and we never bought another set because we could never agree on a pattern…shape…or color.

So for Christmas last year, my mom took things into her own hands and bought us new dishes. In white. Nothing to argue about there!

But the little guy in our life? All of his dishes are multi-colored :)

And as you can see in our kitchen cupboard…besides the basic plates/bowls…everything else is colorful!

But…it’s another idea for the future wedding registry…a fancy dancy, colorful set!

County Fair

While we were “gone” we visited the local county fair.

The best part? It was pretty quiet, so Gavin was able to run around on his own. This was a major hit, especially in the animal barns!

Gavin is a huge animal lover. Slightly obsessed would be a better way to describe it. If one of the neighbor dogs is getting walked past our house? Gav man sprints across the front lawn to give him a big hug, receiving a kiss in return.

So, needless to say, he nearly had a heart attack when he saw those big buildings filled with all sorts of farm animals.

Getting as close as those darn gates would let him!

And yes…he attempted to hug this goat :)

Not only were there animals…but like any Minnesota county fair…shiny tractors were lined up in rows luring in the farmers (and those with yards bigger than ours!)

 

Gav was enthralled by the mini midway…he couldn’t stop staring at the fast spinning, bright lights flashing, rides. Luckily, he didn’t realize that he could possibly ride them, since he still is a little too short to get on any of them!

 

That will be a battle for next year :)

Wordless Wednesday

 

Back!

After three very long weeks, filled with backordered parts and serious withdrawal…

I got my computer back!

We’ve been busy, trying to enjoy the last few weeks of summer, and watching Gavin learn and grow.

He now speaks small sentences, his first being…

“Dada mow dass?” (Dada mow the grass?)

And throughout the day he reminds me that…

“Dada buh bye. Dada aht wor” (Dada at work)

He also has learned all his body parts…eyes, ears, mouth, tongue, fingers, toes, teeth etc. And finds it absolutely hilarious when I ask him to wash one of these body parts while he’s in the tub.

He finally cut his first molar about a week ago, and there are three more not far behind…resulting in lots of chewing and tylenol :)

He’s learned the color blue, and is working on the color orange.

Speaking of colors…a couple weeks back, I let Gav man play around with finger paints for the first time. I’ll let the pictures do the talking :)

Thank goodness it was washable paint :)

We are still here

Yes we are still here!

Yes, my computer is still waiting for new parts! The pieces that were broken aren't pieces normally kept in stock, and are STILL back ordered.

Hopefully will be back at the end of the week! Lots to share!

No Flashing!

No Flash tomorrow..sorry!

Gavin and my computer had a run in today...and it's now at the doctor. The computer, not Gavin!

I won't have my computer until next week :(

Wordless Wednesday

 

We’re back!

And I’m still tired. Yesterday I felt like crap and Gavin and I didn’t even get out of pjs until 4 pm!

We arrived at the cabin Friday night (the 23rd) and on Saturday morning Gavin decided to keep us on our toes. He got stung by a wasp (on his pointer finger) a half hour after waking up…

Then, my mom let him play with the phone and yes…he called 911…and left the phone off of the hook so the operator couldn’t call the number back. So yes, the sheriff showed up at our door to make sure everything was a-ok.

Luckily, those were the only issues of the getaway!

We spent a lot of time out on the boat…

And once he got his hands on the wheel, no one else was allowed to touch it. If I tried to I was immediately pushed away with a “NO! Mama!”

We played in the dirt…

Did some work around the house…

Played in the water…

Threw rocks…

Posed for the camera…

  

Chilled with Daddy…

And hung out with lots of family…

It was a great time, and it’s always great to be at the cabin for an extended period of time. (Especially when the heat index at home was 105 and it was 80 with no humidity at the lake!)
