Crawling...? Nope, not quite yet...
For about two months, we have been convinced that Gavin is just about ready to crawl...yet as he gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth, he always gives in and continues to scoot toward his destination.
He is at such a fun stage now, he is beginning to repeat sounds we make. One of his favorites is saying "ahh Ta!" in a quiet whisper voice, he also loves to say "mmmm" after a yummy bite of food. He is starting to wave at people, not sure if he knows he's saying hello/goodbye but he does know that he gets a big reaction everytime he does it!
Maybe one of these days he'll actually decided to try it...or maybe he'll just decide to walk instead. He does love to stand at the window and is starting to attempt to take small steps while holding onto the sill...but most of the time he just loves to stare at the people, squirrels, bunnies, cars etc going by :)

Even with the craziness of trying to sell our home, and the weather getting colder, most of our life is staying routine and normal.
Louie is still his best friend...
He still loves to smile for the camera...
And still plays so hard that sometimes he needs to take a quick break...
We caved and turned the heat on last night, hope you all are staying warm in this brisk fall weather!

First & Fun
One of the many things I will miss about living in this home when we eventually move is the big picture window in our living room. The window sill is at a perfect height for Gavin to stand at and enjoy the view of the outdoors. He especially loves it when his daddy makes funny faces at him through it.
All in all it was a great weekend. The fall weather is here and I couldn't be happier. Long sleeved t-shirts, sweatshirts, sweaters and jeans...hooray!
We did not have many showings this weekend, but it was a nice break. With Casey only being home on the weekends these days we haven't had a lot of time to just relax together as a family. We didn't even have to clean the house once on Saturday, it was amazing :)
Gavin has shown more and more interest in feeding himself, and apparently thinks that he is big enough to drink out of his bottle all by himself. I can't decide if I am excited by this, or sad, I really love the time we spend together when I am giving him his bottle...

The End of Summer? Or The Beginning of Fall?
Cruisin' to the park...
Where sometimes I talk while swinging...
But most of the time...
I just relax...
Enjoy the sunshine...
And have fun!
Then sometimes...
My mom puts me in this box full of sand...
And I stare at it for a bit...
But then I reach down...
And rub my fingers through it...
When I decide it's pretty cool, I pick some up...
And I stare at my achievement...
And I stare at it some more...
I'm not sure why it sticks to my hands...
And Mom! I'm always willing to share!

SAHM
You know you're a SAHM when everything you utter ends with a word ending with an "ie" sound.
For instance...
Are you poopie?
Did you go potty?
Isn't that just soooo funny?
Do I got your tootsie?
Do you need a new diapy?
Doobie doobie doobie?
I really need to get out more often...

CF and life update!
After "meeting" a new CF mom through my online support group (and adding her as a friend on facebook, duh!) I realized I haven't really mentioned CF on here lately!
Currently Gavin is still doing his two breathing treatments a day which include an albuterol nebulizer treatment and CPT's. This eats up about an hour of our day, but in the evenings we wait until he is really sleeping to do them. 99% of the time he sleeps through all of them, so instead of looking it as treatments, I look at it as a half hour a day I get to spend staring at my sleeping baby :)
He takes 2 Creon 5 with small meals (rice cereal/oatmeal with fruit) and 4 Creon 5 with bottles and meals. For big meals, he eats two jars of chicken/turkey, a jar...or two...of veggies and a jar...or two...of fruit along with some water out of his sippy cup. He takes about 3-4 six ounce bottles a day. He is eating just about every 3 hours. I gave him a teething biscuit for the first time today, and he thought that was just the greatest thing ever! Of course he got it all over his face, but what food does he eat that doesn't get everywhere?!?
Tomorrow I am bringing him in for his second round of his flu shot, yuck, so I'll get to find out how tall he is and how much he weighs. Our next CF clinic visit will be toward the end of October, I really need to remember to make that appointment. Pretty soon we'll only have to go to the CF clinic every three months, unless he gets sick of course, woohoo!! I am excited to ask our pulm. about the conference she attended on the VX drugs which will affect our family in major ways! I cannot wait to see if they have some idea on a timeline of when it will reach phase four!
And just so we're all on the same page...our little boy will plan for retirement, grandkids and old age someday!

Growing Boy
Over the last few weeks you have....
started drinking from your sippy cup on a regular basis
found a best friend in your stuffed zebra,
you snuggle with him every night
decided that climbing on and over things is a ton of fun!
Learned to give Louie his bone, rather than chew on it yourself
decided that you don't love naps, but once asleep
you're out for at least 2 hours
you're out for at least 2 hours
grown two bottom teeth
started to ham it up for the camera
In less than five months you'll be a year old....
Your Mommy & Daddy can't believe how fast time flies
and we love you to the moon and back!

Standing
Now that Gavin can pull himself up, he rarely wants to sit down anymore. Whether we are on the floor and he gets frustrated until you help him up, or if you are sitting in a chair and he gets really frustrated that he's all alone on ground level...there is no more relaxing with this kid around.
He also loves to "walk" all over the place while we hold his hands. At a neighbors 90th birthday celebration on Sunday (yes, she is 90 and still drives and lives on her own!) all the neighbors were shocked that he was "walking" so well already.

I've let him go for a brief second or two while he has been standing in the middle of the room and he stayed! Not long enough to get a picture though, darn, oh well that time will come soon. I know I've said it before, but I really think he's gonna be an early walker. And it is so cute to see him standing, he looks like such a big boy!

Finger Foods
Yesterday, while wearing my Favre jersey & watching the Vikings win, I was feeding Gavin lunch and decided to see what he would do if I put little pieces of food on his tray instead of straight into his mouth. He had pieces of banana and Gerber Peach Yogurt Melts to choose from...
As you can see it took awhile, and by awhile I mean about 10-15 minutes, for him to get the food from the tray to his mouth, but it sure was cute to watch. Once he got a piece in his mouth he was really proud of himself!
And did you notice that our dog Louie is never too far away from Gavin when there is food involved? Take another look at the pictures, you can see him in the background of almost every shot :)
For those of you curious, I've been using the Bumbo to feed Gavin instead of his highchair because we've put away the chair in our basement storage room while our home is on the market. He's really starting to outgrow the Bumbo so it won't work for much longer, but at least for now I don't have to haul the highchair up and down the stairs!
