It was predicted

Lots of snow was predicted and lots of snow we got.

this is our technical way of determining the amount of snowfall

Late yesterday afternoon, we piled on the snow gear and headed outside. After a few rounds of shoveling…

It quickly became apparent that Gavin’s little gloves weren’t going to stay on, so on went mama’s mismatched mittens. Fashionable? No. Functional? Yes.

This little man proved once again that Cystic Fibrosis takes a back seat in his busy life, as he viciously shoveled our driveway and sidewalk.

We enjoyed the snow storm for nearly an hour, ignoring the tingling cold fingers, frozen red cheeks and endless runny noses.

The playtime was briefly interrupted by the arrival of the mailman, who handed me a stack of envelopes. Amidst the bills, I noticed a familiar return label. Upon reading it’s contents, our incredibly fun afternoon in the sun snow got that much better

 Normal Flora

No unusual, crazy bugs growing in our little man’s lungs!

We eventually headed inside for some hot chocolate and cartoons while we awaited Daddy’s arrival home from work. As the evening wore on, my little buddy fell asleep on my lap as we watched the 75th Rockefeller Christmas special.

Much to Gavin’s excitement, the piles and piles of white stuff was still there in the morning! And there was even more of it! We quickly ran downstairs to complete his morning breathing treatment so we could head outside for more fun.

(This was not a good day to realize that the snow blower wouldn’t start…guess we should have been a bit more proactive with that one)

After some heavy duty shoveling

Daddy thought it would be fun to get a little wild and crazy, and tossed some of the fluffy stuff at Gavin

Gavin did not find this to be a good time

But it wasn’t anything a warm, hearty breakfast of waffles and syrup couldn’t fix.

Gavin ate food this morning for an hour straight, a CF mama loves those calories!
