Self-Teaching

Is that even a term? Hmm…well anywho…

I’m starting a resolution early this year. Many of you know that I am a cheapskate when it comes to paying for items when I am pretty sure I can tackle it myself. Whether it’s a craft, sewing, artwork, redoing a piece of furniture, etc. I’m pretty self sufficient.

So, now I am going to attempt to redo my blog…on my own. My resolution being that with all the time I spend blogging, I should be able to do more of it on my own.

Obviously I’m going to need the help of Google, and much help from those friends/family who have either done this before or are better with HTML coding than I am…but I am going to try!

So today, I made a new header and found Blogger’s simplest, basic, white background. So occasionally, you will see minor tweaks and changes as I attempt to teach myself some of the basics.

If I learn a fancy new trick, I’ll share it with you…or if you have any ideas of what I should change first (or even how to do it) please share!

Wish me luck!

(btw, my first new trick was learning how to insert a signature…not what I’ll end up with in the end, but it was fun to learn!)

  1. Looks great Jen! I'd love to learn HTML! I never thought I'd say this - but my macbook has been an incredible investment. I LOVE designing things on it. I'm getting Photoshop for Christmas too so I can start making my own cards and invites. And I'm thinking about scrapbooking digitally...I haven't even started Finn's baby book yet. Oops. Macs are SO easy to work on. Not to mention the iPhoto and Movie Makers are great!

  2. Um, you're pretty awesome to do this! I'd LOVE to do something like this. I'd pay for it but it's hard to want to pay for something that actually doesn't exist. HA! :) Anyway, you go girl! Looks great already!

  3. Your so good, you'll have to teach me some things! Normally I like to tackle things myself, but when it comes to the computer and blogger, I have no patience!

  5. Can't wait to see future 'How-To' posts because I am completely clueless when it comes to stuff like that! Wouldn't even mind a post about how to get a signature on there! :P
